Chaos in Israel after bodies of hostages were found, lakhs of people protested, Netanyahu apologized

After the bodies of 6 Israeli hostages were found from a tunnel in Rafah, Gaza, people in many countries including Israel have become angry against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Clashes between protesters and police are also being seen in many cities of Israel. A large number of people are protesting against their own government. In such a situation, Prime Minister Netanyahu has apologized to the families of the deceased.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a press conference in Jerusalem that we were close to an agreement, but could not succeed. He said, “I told the families of the dead hostages and I repeat it again tonight, I apologize to you. We could not bring them back alive. We were very close to an agreement, but we could not succeed.” The US President has also expressed his displeasure with Netanyahu.

Seeing the death of the hostages and the anger of the people, President Biden strongly condemned Netanyahu and accused him of not making enough efforts to reach an agreement and ceasefire with Hamas for the release of the hostages. Netanyahu has expressed disappointment over the statement of the US President. He said, “I cannot believe that President Biden has said this. I cannot believe it.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not stop here, he blamed Hamas for the ceasefire not happening. Not only this, Netanyahu also claimed that he will not let Hamas rule Gaza and has said that he will not withdraw from the Philadelphia corridor. However, on one hand, Netanyahu is adamant on his stubbornness and on the other hand, people’s anger against him is increasing in many countries including Israel.

People’s protests in Israel have turned violent. There was a fierce clash between the protesters and the police in Tel Aviv. Hundreds of protesters set fire on the streets and raised slogans against Prime Minister Netanyahu. During this time, more than two dozen people were arrested across the country. The protesters are demanding Netanyahu to reach an agreement with Hamas for the release of the remaining hostages.

According to Israeli media, not only in Tel Aviv but also in Jerusalem and many other cities, about 5 lakh people protested against Prime Minister Netanyahu. He has been constantly accused of not showing seriousness for the release of the hostages. Therefore, the Israeli trade union has also announced a nationwide strike and demanded that the government should soon reach an agreement with Hamas for the release of 101 hostages.
