Champions Trophy 2025: ‘Why should we go to India to play Champions Trophy…’, Harbhajan Singh lashed out at Pakistan, gave this argument

Harbhajan Singh said on Champions Trophy 2025: Former Indian veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh, popularly known as ‘Turbinator’, has expressed concern over the possibility of Team India going to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Bhajji has cited the current instability of the security situation in Pakistan. Harbhajan’s argument is being considered absolutely correct in the current situation of Pakistan.

Harbhajan made it clear that he supports the BCCI’s (Board of Control for Cricket in India) move to seek government approval before finalizing the Indian team’s participation in the tournament. The BCCI has not yet given any fresh statement on this matter.

Harbhajan Singh said, ‘Why should the Indian team go to Pakistan? There is concern about safety in Pakistan.’ Harbhajan said on Thursday – The situation in Pakistan is such that incidents happen there almost every day.

I don’t think it is safe (for the team) to go there. The BCCI’s stance is absolutely correct and nothing is more important than the safety of our players. I support the BCCI’s stance.

5 star hotel in Pakistan for Team India

Pakistan has assured that all the matches of India in this tournament will be held in Lahore and the Indian team will stay in the same hotel during the match. They have also said that keeping the team in the same city will lead to more effective and safe arrangements for the visiting team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently announced the acquisition of land for the construction of a 5-star hotel near the Gaddafi Cricket Stadium in Lahore.

According to sources, the PCB is planning to build a hotel and aims to have it ready by early next year. The new hotel is expected to eliminate the need for teams to stay at distant places. In such a situation, the need to close the road for security reasons during the passage of the team will be reduced.

The Indian cricket team refused to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup last year, resulting in the matches being held in Sri Lanka. Pakistan and India have not played a bilateral series since 2012, with the Indian government restricting cricket between the two countries to ICC (International Cricket Council) or ACC (Asian Cricket Council) events.
