CBI’s 64 hours of interrogation, Sandeep Ghosh will appear before the police today, Sourav Ganguly will take part in the protest today

The case of rape and murder of a female trainee doctor in Kolkata has heated up. Doctors across the country are out on the streets. From the High Court to the Supreme Court, everyone is in action mode. The Central Investigation Agency CBI has been collecting evidence for seven days and Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has been caught in a controversy. The CBI team is questioning Dr. Sandeep Ghosh on the sixth day as well. Dr. Ghosh has been questioned for 64 hours in the last 5 days and the series of questions has not stopped yet. At the same time, Dr. Ghosh’s troubles have increased in a new case related to financial irregularities. On Wednesday, he has to appear before the police and record his statement in the corruption case.

In fact, on Tuesday, a case of financial irregularity has been registered against former Principal of RG Kar Medical College, Dr Sandeep Ghosh. This case has been registered at Tala Police Station. Debal Kumar Ghosh, Senior Special Secretary, Health Department, Government of West Bengal, has filed a case against Dr Sandeep Ghosh through a written complaint. Ghosh has been accused of irregularities, taking illegal commission and manipulation in appointments. The government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by IPS Dr Pranav Kumar for investigation. The team will also include members like Murshidabad Range DIG Waqar Raza, CID DIG Soma Das Mitra and Kolkata Police DCP Indira Mukherjee. This team has been entrusted with the task of investigation to ensure transparency and accountability within the institution.

CBI has interrogated Sandeep Ghosh for 64 hours in 5 days

Sandeep Ghosh is being considered an important link in the CBI investigation. In this entire incident, questions are being asked about the role of the hospital and all the characters associated with the hospital. CBI interrogated Dr. Sandeep Ghosh for the first time on Friday. Since then, he is being interrogated for more than 12 hours every day. On Monday, CBI interrogated him for 13 hours. On Tuesday, he was interrogated for 11 hours. Today, i.e. on Wednesday, Sandeep Ghosh has reached the CBI office for the sixth day. Today, Ghosh is also to appear before the Kolkata Police.

In the last five days, the CBI has asked several questions from Sandeep Ghosh. Ghosh has been asked about his role after receiving the news of the death of the female doctor. Whom did he contact after the incident and why did he allegedly make the parents wait for almost three hours to show them the body? He has also been asked about the approval for the renovation of the rooms adjoining the seminar hall after the body was found in RG Kar Hospital.

Doctors will take to the streets again today and take out a march

At the same time, anger is also increasing due to the incident of rape and murder. Doctors of RG Kar Hospital will also take out a march on the streets on Wednesday. Former cricketer Sourav Ganguly and his wife Dona Ganguly will also be a part of the protest march today. This march will be taken out from the CBI office to the Health Building. There is a lot of anger among the doctors due to the incident of vandalism and attack in RG Kar Hospital and protests are being held across the country. A day before, on Tuesday, people took to the streets to get justice for the daughter of Kolkata and took out a march from RG Kar Hospital to Health Building. The security of the hospital has been handed over to CISF.

Sandeep Ghosh may also undergo polygraph test

The CBI is also investigating against Sandip Ghosh and the agency also wants to get his polygraph test done. For example, discrepancies have been found in the statements of the victim’s family and the former principal of the hospital, Dr. Sandip Ghosh. Due to different statements, it is being said that the CBI can get his polygraph test done. An official said that we want to further verify Ghosh’s answers, as there are discrepancies in the answers to some of our questions. Therefore, we are considering the option of getting his polygraph test done. However, it will be necessary to get approval from the court for this. Earlier, the CBI has taken permission from a local court to get the polygraph test of accused Sanjay Roy done.

What happened at RG Kar Hospital?

The body of a 31-year-old female trainee doctor was found on the night of 9 August at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The incident took place in the seminar hall. The trainee doctor had injury marks on her body and was bleeding. Investigation revealed that the doctor was raped and then murdered. The police arrested the accused Sanjay Roy and sent him to jail. The incident caused resentment among the doctors and they went on strike. The Kolkata High Court transferred the investigation of the case from the police to the CBI. The CBI has been investigating the case for 7 days.

Resident doctors are angry over the attitude of the former principal

Sandeep Ghosh has been the principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Angry doctors questioned the attitude of the principal and created a ruckus, so Dr. Sandeep Ghosh announced his resignation from his job. Meanwhile, on August 12, the Health Department transferred Dr. Ghosh to Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital and appointed Dr. Suharitha Paul as the new principal of RG Kar Medical College.

Who is Sandip Ghosh?

Born and brought up in Bangaon, about 80 km from Kolkata, Dr. Sandip Ghosh completed his studies from Bangaon High School in 1989. Later, he completed his medical education from RG Kar Medical College. He received a graduate degree in 1994. His early education and professional journey were quite good. However, Dr. Ghosh’s later career was surrounded by controversies. Many complaints have been sent against Ghosh to the state health department. An inquiry was also set up. The result was that Ghosh was transferred twice and both times he was successful in getting the transfer order overturned. Serious cases like illegal use of dead bodies kept for post-mortem are involved against Sandip Ghosh. Many times the college staff wrote letters to the health department regarding this, but no action was taken.
