Lucy-Blue Knight, stepdaughter of Guns N’ Roses lead guitarist Slash, died on July 19 at the age of 25. Knight’s cause of death has been revealed more than a month later.
Knight’s cause of death was hydrogen sulfide poisoning, and her manner of death was suicide, according to the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office. Confirmed for New York Post This August.

Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, announced his stepdaughter’s death in an Instagram post on July 21.
“Lucy-Blue Knight (December 6, 1988), beloved daughter of Meagan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlett Knight, stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, passed away peacefully in Los Angeles, CA. July 19, 2024,” he wrote.
“Lucy-Blue was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate visionary and a charming, loving, sweet soul,” Slash added. “The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss.”
Hours before announcing Knight’s death, Slash canceled several dates on his Serpent Blues Music Tour, citing “unforeseen circumstances”.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Serpent tour has regrettably had to cancel the following shows,” the Guns N’ Roses guitarist wrote. “Refunds will be available at points of purchase.”
In the caption of his post, Slash revealed that the tour was promoting his solo album, orgy of the damned, will resume in Toronto on July 28, “We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
On July 23, Slash’s son London Hudson also took to Instagram to pay tribute to his half-sister.
“This crap is bad,” he wrote. “You will be missed forever Lucy, I love you so much.”
London’s mother, Slash’s ex-wife Perla Ferrara, wrote in the comments section of her son’s post, “There are no words for this lost child. I am so sorry for all of you. Especially Lucy.
“Let’s all learn from this experience, support and love each other,” she added. “In the end love and family is what really matters. I love you.”
Three days after Knight’s death, his own Instagram account strangely posted a photo of him with a cryptic caption:
Have I made you feel left out, manipulated/controlled, told you to quit your day job to be financially supported by my parents, or drowned out real issues in toxic positivity – I’m sorry. Countless missed opportunities and connections due to obnoxious big egos, insecure hearts and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to grow from my poor job of being Lucy-Blue. the peace
Breitbart News contacted Meta to inquire about how Knight’s personal Instagram post was posted, specifically whether it was scheduled days in advance. The company did not respond.
“I have a heart [permanently] Slash wrote in a follow-up post on July 27. “I will never stop missing you and remember that you were always a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity and beauty. And still is.”
“The brightest light in the lives of so many who love you so much,” Slash added. “I hope you are at peace now. I will love you forever.”
