  2. Language Test Results: Applicants must demonstrate language proficiency with a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 5.
  3. Education: Applicants must have completed one year of Canadian post-secondary education or the foreign equivalent.
  4. Admissibility Check: Applicants must pass an admissibility check, which includes health, criminality, and security checks.

  4. Wait for Processing: IRCC will process your application and notify you of the outcome.

Temporary Resident Caregivers

If you are not eligible for permanent residence under the Caregiver Pilot Program, you can still apply to extend your work permit through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP). To do so, your employer must obtain a positive or neutral Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
