After the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, “Shootings make me stronger” T-shirts have hit the shelves in China.
The attack on Trump, which left one spectator dead and the alleged shooter killed, has sparked a controversial response from some Chinese retailers. Within days of the incident, t-shirts and other merchandise bearing the provocative slogan have appeared for sale online and in stores across China.
The t-shirts, which feature the text in both English and Chinese, are being marketed as a statement of resilience and defiance in the face of political violence. Some retailers claim the shirts are intended to show “support” for Trump, though the message has been widely criticized as insensitive and potentially inciting further unrest.

“This is a disturbing development that capitalizes on a tragic event for political gain,” said political analyst Mei Ling. “The t-shirts send a dangerous message that violence against candidates should be celebrated or encouraged. It’s a gross exploitation of the situation.”
Chinese authorities have not commented on the sale of the merchandise, though some local officials have called for its removal from stores. Activists have also organized petitions urging major e-commerce platforms to ban the sale of the “Shootings make me stronger” t-shirts
