Bengal Governor Anand Bose had filed a defamation case against Mamata Banerjee, two newly elected TMC MLAs Sayantika Banerjee and Rayat Hussain Sarkar and party leader Kunal Ghosh. During the hearing of this, the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday barred Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee from making any derogatory or false statement against Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday stood firm by her statement that women have expressed fear about visiting the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata and opposed a petition filed by Governor C.V. Anand Bose in the Calcutta High Court seeking an interim order in a defamation suit filed against her.
