Brutality with lady doctor, nationwide strike by resident doctors, 5 important updates of Kolkata case

After the rape and murder case of a lady doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, the fire of protest has spread across the country. Resident doctors across the country have gone on strike from Monday. The resident doctors’ organization ‘Federation of All India Resident Doctors Association’ has announced a nationwide strike. Resident doctors’ associations of all government hospitals are joining this strike. Meanwhile, during police interrogation, many big revelations have been made about the accused criminal Sanjay Roy. It is being told that the accused committed the crime after drinking alcohol and watching a pornographic film.

1. Nationwide strike by resident doctors, IMA’s ultimatum

The case of rape and murder of a lady doctor is getting serious. Resident doctors have started a nationwide strike in protest against this. During this time, work in OPD, elective surgery and lab will remain closed. Work is also closed in RG Kar Medical College. The doctors there say that the police have arrested only one accused, while many others may also be involved in this heinous crime. They claim that behind the arrest of accused Sanjay Roy, an attempt is being made to deliberately hide some big matter. The Indian Medical Association has given an ultimatum of 48 hours to complete the investigation.

Along with this, a warning of nationwide protest has been given. IMA has said, “We demand that the police officers take action within 48 hours and with accuracy, otherwise we will be forced to start nationwide action. A fair, transparent and sensitive investigation is needed. A two-day ultimatum is given to arrest the culprits. After this, the Indian Medical Association will hold a nationwide protest. The entire medical community of India is shocked by this brutal murder.” In this way, doctors across the country are demanding justice for the deceased lady doctor.

2. Medical Superintendent and ACP were removed from their posts

After this horrific incident, the health department has removed RG Kar Medical College Superintendent Dr. Sanjay Vashisht. He was in charge there for a long time. In his place, the hospital’s dean Bulbul Mukhopadhyay has been given the responsibility. There was a demand to remove the superintendent ever since the lady doctor’s body was found on Friday. But after 48 hours, the health department issued an order to remove him. Along with this, Kolkata Police has also removed the hospital’s police in-charge SP Chandan Guha. Action has been taken against him on charges of negligence in this case.

3. Watched porn while drinking alcohol, then raped and murdered the doctor

Many big revelations are being made during the investigation of this case. Police sources say that the accused criminal Sanjay Roy was addicted to watching porn movies while drinking alcohol. He came and went inside the hospital several times on the night of the incident. The crime is being confirmed on the basis of interrogation of the accused, circumstantial evidence and CCTV footage. He went to the back of the hospital to drink alcohol at 11 pm on Friday night. He watched porn movies while drinking alcohol there. After this, at 4 am, he was seen entering the Chest Medicine Department from the back door. After this, he was seen coming out of the seminar hall at around 4.45 am.

4. The accused criminal tampered with the evidence after the incident

After committing the crime, the accused tried to tamper with the evidence. The police have found evidence that shows that the accused tried to wash off the blood stains from the crime scene. After returning home, he also washed his clothes, which he had worn while committing the crime. But the police have recovered his shoes, in which blood stains can be clearly seen. When the police went to arrest him, he was completely drunk. The accused has a perverted mentality. Because the kind of porn movies he used to watch on his mobile, people usually do not watch that.

5. Initial investigation suggests rape after murder

Kolkata Police is waiting for the final postmortem report of the lady doctor. Another police officer said that circumstantial evidence indicates the possibility that the arrested accused first killed the lady doctor and then raped her. The doctor was sleeping alone in the seminar hall of the hospital. She resisted, but was strangled to death. The postmortem report states, “The victim was bleeding from both eyes and mouth. There were injuries on the face. There was bleeding from her private part as well. There were injuries on her stomach, left leg, neck, right hand, finger and lips.”

Clues were found from Bluetooth earbuds, this is how the accused was caught

Let us tell you that the lady doctor was brutally murdered in the early hours of Friday. As soon as the information about this incident was received on Saturday morning, the police reached the spot. During the initial investigation, the police found a Bluetooth earbud from the spot, through which they were able to reach the accused. PGT and female doctors also identified the culprit from CCTV footage. After this, the accused Sanjay Roy was arrested. The accused is a civic volunteer. Such volunteers are contract employees who assist police personnel for traffic and unauthorized parking management. Their job is temporary.

Mamata Banerjee demanded death penalty for the culprit

The police have registered a case against the accused under sections 64 (rape) and 103 (murder) of the BNS. After the arrest, he was produced in the local court, from where he was sent to 14 days of police custody. The accused will now remain in police custody till August 23, where he will be questioned about the case. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has demanded the death penalty for the culprit. She said that if the victim’s family demands a CBI inquiry, she will support it. She has no objection. Instructions have been given to take the case to the fast track court.
