Uttarakhand nurse rape murder case: Along with the rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata, the case of Rudrapur in Uttarakhand is also in the headlines. Where protests are being held every day in the case of rape and murder of a nurse. Like Kolkata, in this case too, the police had completed its work after arresting a person. But when the family members and a crowd of thousands of people came out on the streets and started demanding a CBI inquiry, the SSP formed an SIT to investigate the matter. Now the SIT is investigating this case. However, the family members are still adamant on their demand.

Shocking revelation from new CCTV footage
Meanwhile, a CCTV video of the deceased nurse has surfaced. In which she is seen getting down from an auto on July 30, i.e. the day of the incident. Then two people are seen coming to her. They talk to the nurse and suddenly the nurse sits down and holds their feet. It seems as if she is pleading to them. After the emergence of this video, the matter is getting more complicated. Because the police had arrested a person named Dharmendra in this case and said that he had murdered the nurse after brutalizing her. But in the new video, two people are seen talking to the nurse. Let us tell you that questions were being raised on the action of the police in this case from the very beginning.

The nurse went missing on July 30
This sensational case of rape and murder of a nurse from Rudrapur had angered people in the entire state. The 30-year-old nurse worked in a private hospital in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. She was married 12 years ago. But later she got divorced. She used to go to the hospital and return home every day at her fixed time. On 30th July also, she left her home on time. But she did not return home even after evening. Her phone was also not reachable. The family members called the hospital and her acquaintances. They asked them about her. But she was not found. Her family members kept searching for her throughout the night. But she was not found.

The nurse’s sister had filed a missing person report
On 31st July, nurse Tasleem’s sister reached Rudrapur police station with her family and registered her sister’s missing report there. Now the police along with the family started looking for the nurse and started investigating the case. The police inquired about her from the hospital and all the people and relatives who knew her. But no clue was found. During this time, the family started fearing something untoward.

The body was recovered on August 8
While the Uttarakhand police was searching for the nurse in Udham Singh Nagar district, on August 8, the Bilaspur police station of Rampur district of UP found a skeleton in the bushes near Dibdiba. The condition in which this body was found on Vasundhara Enclave Road made it difficult to identify it because the face was completely destroyed. The skull was clearly visible.

Identification was done with the help of ID card
The surprising thing was that the entire body had turned into a skeleton, but the hands and feet were looking fine. When the police searched the area, they found a woman’s ID card. That ID card belonged to the nurse who was a nurse at Futela Hospital. After this, the Bilaspur police station sent the body for postmortem. When the postmortem report came, it was revealed that the body was of a woman who was first raped and then strangled to death. Now the UP police contacted Futela Hospital on the basis of the ID card and informed them about finding a woman’s body.

On the other hand, Rudrapur police was looking for the nurse. During investigation, police found out that on July 30, the nurse was seen going towards Dibdiba in Bilaspur police station area of ​​Uttar Pradesh while returning from the hospital. Her pictures were captured in a CCTV camera installed there. After this, different teams of Uttarakhand police were deployed to search for the nurse. Meanwhile, through the hospital, Rudrapur police station got information about the recovery of the nurse’s ID card and a dead body in Bilaspur police station area of ​​Rampur. Immediately a police team was sent to Bilaspur police station of UP. Then the nurse’s sister and other family members were called there for identification. Who identified her by looking at the ID card, clothes and purse. Because it was impossible to identify by looking at the dead body.

Police reached Bareilly with the help of surveillance
Earlier, the Uttarakhand police had also put the nurse’s mobile number on surveillance. And after scanning the CCTV footage, the police saw a suspicious young man who was seen following the nurse. Now the person who was seen in the CCTV footage was on the police radar. Meanwhile, the police got an important information from the surveillance of the active phone number at the crime scene. Based on which, the Rudrapur police team reached Tursa Patti village of Sahi police station area in Bareilly district of UP. The police suspected that the woman’s murderer could be there. But the police did not find anyone there.

Arrest from Rajasthan
But Uttarakhand got such an input that different police teams were formed and sent to UP, Haryana and Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the police found the location of the suspicious youth in Rajasthan. After this, Uttarakhand Police raided Jodhpur in Rajasthan and arrested a man named Dharmendra along with his wife Khushboo and then brought them to Rudrapur.

Protests across the state
Between 30 July and 8 August, the news of the nurse’s disappearance had spread throughout the state. People came out on the streets in the entire district including Rudrapur. When the news of the nurse’s rape and murder came out, people became angry. Protests started happening everywhere. On 15 August, the police claimed to have solved the case and presented Dharmendra as the accused in front of the media.

Earlier the SSP had narrated this story
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Udham Singh Nagar district, Dr Manju Nath TC had said that during interrogation, the accused Dharmendra has confessed his crime. The accused told that on the evening of July 30, he saw the woman walking alone on the road leading to Vasundhara Colony, and his intentions became bad. Taking advantage of the darkness, the accused forcibly took the woman to the bushes, where he tried to rape the woman. But when the woman resisted, the accused slammed her head on the road and then raped her. Finally, after the rape, the accused strangled the woman with the dupatta and killed her. The police further said that after disposing of the body in the bushes, the accused fled with the nurse’s mobile and thirty thousand rupees. Who has now been arrested by the police from Rajasthan.

The police had made this claim
SSP Dr. Manju Nath TC had claimed that the accused Dharmendra caught the nurse, raped her and killed her. The accused has been arrested and sent to jail. Meanwhile, on 9 August, a ruckus had started in Kolkata over the rape and murder of a junior doctor. Its effect was also seen on the rape and murder of the nurse. Youth, students and many organizations were on the streets protesting against the murder of the nurse.

The victim’s family had called the police claim a lie
In fact, no one believed the police’s story. The nurse’s family members said that the disclosure made by the police was false. The person whom the police presented before the media as an accused was a drug addict, who was forced by the police to confess the crime. Overall, the family of the deceased nurse and the public did not believe the police’s story. Therefore, now the public’s anger was directed at the police as well. People started protesting against the police as well.

The family had demanded a CBI inquiry
The family of the deceased nurse was constantly raising questions on the police’s disclosure. They are constantly demanding a CBI inquiry. During this time, many organizations including Congress, student union have also become vocal against the police in this case. Even the students demonstrated at the SSP office demanding a CBI inquiry into this case. In which the family of the deceased nurse also participated.

Seeing the uproar increasing, SSP Dr. Manju Nath TC herself came and met the protesters. But during this time, there came a time when Udham Singh Nagar SSP Dr. Manju Nath TC lost her temper while talking to the protesting students. The SSP got angry and said that she alone has not taken the contract to reform such beasts. On the demand of the protesters, the SSP said that action is being taken with full promptness in every case, but she alone has not taken the contract to eliminate the beasts spread in the society. When such people are born in the society, what can he do. The police captain also came under the scanner for such a statement. His statement became a topic of discussion. There was an uproar in the whole of Uttarakhand regarding the nurse rape and murder case.

Expressing concern over this matter, Kichha Assembly MLA of Udham Singh Nagar district Tilak Raj Behad said that it is very unfortunate that sisters and daughters are not safe in our small state and crime is increasing day by day. Expressing grief over the Rudrapur incident, he said that a female nurse goes to her home after working in the hospital but does not reach home. After rape, she is killed. No statement of the state Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has come out in this matter.

SIT is investigating the matter
Seeing the uproar increasing in the case of murder and rape of the nurse, the police came on the back foot. After a lot of struggle and political interference, SSP Udham Singh Nagar finally formed an SIT in the Kolkata-like nurse murder case in Rudrapur. Taking a U-turn on his first disclosure action, he handed over the supervision of the SIT to Superintendent of Police (Crime) Chandrashekhar Ghodke. While Rudrapur Superintendent of Police (City) Manoj Katyal was made the officer in charge of the SIT. Other officers including Area Officer Rudrapur Niharika Tomar are also included in it as team in charge. The investigation of the case is ongoing.
