Germany’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer BMW Motorrad today launched its premium electric scooter BMW CE 04 in the Indian market. In terms of look and design, this electric scooter is completely different from any model available in the market till now. Equipped with attractive looks and powerful battery pack, the price of this electric scooter has been fixed at Rs 14.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
How is the country’s most expensive electric scooter:
Obviously, this is the most expensive electric scooter in the country and at this price you can buy an electric car like Nexon EV. The starting price of Nexon Electric SUV is Rs 14.49 lakh. However, the company has given a large battery pack of 8.5kWh capacity in this scooter which gives a driving range of up to 130 km in a single charge. It has a liquid-cooled permanent magnet electric motor which generates 42hp power and 62Nm torque. The company claims that this scooter is capable of accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. Its top speed is 120 km/h.
Charging options:
There are two charger options available with this scooter. One is 2.3kW which is being provided as standard and the other is an optional 6.9kW charger. BMW claims that it takes approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes to charge this electric scooter with a standard charger. Whereas with a bigger 6.9kW charger, the battery of this scooter can be charged in just 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Based on a steel double loop frame, this electric scooter has a telescopic fork at the front and an offset monoshock suspension at the rear. Talking about braking, it has twin 265 mm disc brakes at the front and a 265 mm disc brake with single piston axial caliper at the rear. This scooter has a 15-inch wheel. The company says that the height of this seat is 780 mm which is also better for short height people. Its total weight is 231 kg. This scooter has been introduced in blue and white color.
