BJP’s first list for Haryana elections is approved! Candidates’ names may be announced tomorrow

After the announcement of the dates for the Haryana elections, all the political parties have started preparations in full swing. While brainstorming is going on over the names of the candidates, the list of star campaigners is also being prepared. Meanwhile, information is coming out that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may release its first list of candidates for the state assembly elections on Wednesday.

If sources are to be believed, names of more than 50 candidates can be announced on Wednesday. After an important meeting of top BJP leaders that went on till late Tuesday evening, the list of candidates has been finalized. However, no official statement has been issued by the party regarding this yet.

Voting will be held in one phase in Haryana

Let us tell you that voting will be held in a single phase for 90 seats of Haryana Assembly. Voting will be held on all 90 seats of Haryana on October 5 and the election results will come after counting of votes on October 8. The term of Haryana Legislative Assembly is going to end on 3 November 2024. The last assembly elections were held in October 2019. After the elections, the alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party and Jannayak Janata Party formed the state government. BJP has 40, Congress has 31 and Independents / Others have 19 seats. Earlier the elections were to be held on October 1 and the results were to come on October 4. But in view of the festivals, the Election Commission changed the date.

BJP government was formed for the first time in 2014

BJP won the elections for Haryana Assembly in 2014 for the first time. BJP won 47 seats and formed the government with absolute majority. Then INLD came second by winning 19 seats and Congress came third with 15 seats. In the 2019 elections again, no party could reach the majority figure and BJP emerged as the largest party with 40 seats. Congress’s caravan stopped at 31 seats and the newly-formed Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) won 10 seats. Chautala family’s party INLD could win only one seat.
