BJP leader’s nephew shot dead in Sultanpur, altercation took place over a minor dispute

In Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district, a minor altercation between two youths led to a gunshot on Tuesday evening, in which the nephew of a Bharatiya Janata Party leader died. The police have sent the body for post-mortem and are conducting raids to arrest the accused.

This incident happened outside a restaurant in Payagipur of Kotwali Nagar, where two youths clashed with each other over a minor dispute. There was a scuffle for some time and the situation worsened to such an extent that one youth shot the other. Abhay Pratap Singh (23), a resident of Pakri village of Kotwali Dehat police station area, died due to the bullet injury.

The deceased youth is the nephew of the BJP Mandal President

Abhay Pratap is the nephew of BJP Mandal President Ram Abhilakh Singh. When his friends took him to the hospital in critical condition, the doctors there declared him dead. As soon as the information of this incident was received, Kotwal AK Dwivedi, CO City Shivam Mishra and SP Somen Verma reached the hospital.

What did the SP say about this incident?

Superintendent of Police Somen Burma said, “The incident was a result of a personal dispute. The real reason will be known after the suspects are arrested. The body has been sent for post-mortem and police teams are working to arrest the accused.”
