‘BJP and Modi government are playing with Kejriwal’s life’, this AAP leader made a serious allegation

Sanjay Singh's big claim on Arvind Kejriwal

Sanjay Singh, Rajya Sabha MP, Aam Aadmi Party.

Arvind Kejriwal: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh on Saturday claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the government led by it at the Centre were playing with the life of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has lost 8.5 kg weight and his blood sugar level has dropped below 50 mg/dL five times while in jail.

BJP hits back at AAP, makes this claim

The BJP retorted that every time the AAP leaders see any hope of Kejriwal getting bail, they start singing the same old tune that the BJP wants to keep him in jail and his health is continuously deteriorating. Sanjay Singh said in a press conference, ‘His health condition is such that if he is not brought out of jail soon and treated, any serious incident can happen to him.’

He said that when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Kejriwal on March 21 in a money laundering case related to the excise policy, his weight was 70 kg, which has now come down to 61.5 kg. Singh claimed that the reason for his continuous weight loss is unknown, as no investigation has been done. He said that weight loss is a sign of some serious disease.

‘Kejriwal’s health is continuously deteriorating in jail’

The Rajya Sabha member claimed that the Delhi chief minister’s blood sugar level dropped below 50 mg/dL five times while he was in jail and “if his sugar level keeps falling like this while sleeping, anything can happen to him and he may even go into a coma.” Reacting to the AAP’s claims, BJP’s Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva said, “Sanjay Singh should remember that whenever Kejriwal gets bail, he never goes for treatment, rather his political rhetoric reaches new heights.”

He said Kejriwal had asked people to vote for AAP in the Lok Sabha elections if they wanted to see him out of jail. “But the people of Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana and Punjab completely rejected his call,” Sachdeva said. Singh also said, “Doctors are not always available in jails at night and in case of any problem, patients are taken to hospital with great difficulty.”

Sanjay Singh has spent six months in Tihar Jail

Sanjay Singh was also arrested by the ED in a money laundering case related to the excise policy and has spent six months in Tihar jail. He said Kejriwal’s family, AAP and his well-wishers are worried about his health condition in jail. Singh alleged, “The aim of the BJP and its government at the Centre is to keep him in jail and play with his life. They are hatching a conspiracy so that he faces some serious health problems.”

The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim bail to the Delhi Chief Minister in the case registered by the ED. However, he is still in jail as he was arrested by the CBI in the excise policy scam case.
