Public Court Supreme Court, Supreme Court is going to organize a special Lok Adalat from this month in which the emphasis will be on settling pending cases through mutual consent. Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud on Friday urged citizens to participate in the special Lok Adalat to be held from July 29 to August 3 to resolve their disputes pending in the Supreme Court amicably and speedily. Special Lok Adalat will be organized in the 75th year of the establishment of the Supreme Court to reduce the number of pending cases in the apex court.

In a video message uploaded on the court’s website, Chief Justice Chandrachud said, from July 29 to August 3, 2024, the Supreme Court is organizing a special Lok Adalat. This is part of a series of activities that the Supreme Court is organizing to commemorate the 75th year of its establishment. He said that most importantly, the judges dedicated to the institution of justice are concerned about the large number of pending cases.

Justice Chandrachud said, Lok Adalat seeks to resolve matters pertaining to our citizens in a completely voluntary, consensual manner to their satisfaction. He said, therefore, on behalf of all my colleagues and the staff of the Supreme Court, I appeal to all citizens whose cases are pending in the Supreme Court, or lawyers, to take advantage of this opportunity and try to resolve the matters quickly and in a manner that is acceptable to each party.
