A new method is being adopted in Madhya Pradesh to collect outstanding electricity bills. Now, if the bills are not paid on time, the names, addresses and outstanding amount of the consumers will be shared on social media. The electricity company will use WhatsApp, Facebook, X and Instagram platforms for this. It will also appeal for payment of electricity bills.
According to the information received from the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, a list of names of big electricity defaulters of all the 16 districts falling under Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Gwalior and Chambal divisions of the company’s jurisdiction has been prepared, which will be made public through social media.
From the list of defaulting electricity consumers of all categories, preparations have been made to make public the names of the top 20 defaulters. After this, the list of all defaulting consumers will also be released on social media.
It is worth noting that the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company has all the information including names and mobile numbers of all categories of consumers. A WhatsApp group of consumers is being created in which the list of defaulters will be sent so that everyone can know how many defaulters are around them.
Along with this, it will also be made viral on other social media platforms like X, Facebook, Instagram etc. Recently, the list of some defaulters of Gwalior area was made public in public places and on social media. Due to this action, many consumers deposited their dues with the company, after which their names were removed.
