Big announcement amid the uproar in Bangladesh… After Air India, Indigo-Vistara flights to Dhaka from today!

Meanwhile, many airlines had also stopped the operations of their flights, but now many Indian airlines have made a big announcement and are preparing to start flight service to Dhaka again and these flights will be operated from today. According to sources, Air India operated its evening flight to Dhaka on Tuesday, while IndiGo and Vistara will operate scheduled flights from today, Wednesday.

Air India flight had departed yesterday also
According to a PTI report, Air India is also likely to operate a special flight to bring back people from the Bangladesh capital. It said that Air India had cancelled its morning flight to Dhaka on Tuesday but operated its evening flight. After this, Vistara and IndiGo have also announced to start scheduled services to the Bangladesh capital from August 7.

What did Air India say?
The situation in neighbouring Bangladesh remains unstable amid protests. The country has plunged into uncertainty and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been forced to resign and flee the country after the uproar started over the reservation issue. According to sources, Air India will operate its 2 daily flights from Delhi to Dhaka on Wednesday. On Tuesday evening, Air India said it would operate its evening flights AI237/238 on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi sector.

The airline also said that due to the current situation there, passengers with confirmed bookings on any flights to and from Dhaka between August 4 and 7 are being given a one-time discount on rescheduling. This offer will be applicable for tickets booked on or before August 5.

According to sources, Air India operated a special charter flight on short notice late on Tuesday night despite challenges at Dhaka airport. It brought 199 passengers and 6 children from Dhaka to Delhi.

How many flights of Indigo and Vistara?
The report also quoted sources as saying that apart from Air India, Vistara Airlines and IndiGo Airlines, majority owned by Tata Group, will also operate their scheduled flights to Dhaka. Vistara operates daily flights from Mumbai and 3 weekly flights from Delhi to Dhaka. Generally, IndiGo operates one daily flight from Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai to Dhaka and two daily flights from Kolkata to the capital of Bangladesh. Earlier, both Vistara and IndiGo had cancelled their Tuesday flights to the capital of Bangladesh.

Preparations are now underway to form an interim government in Bangladesh. The protesters have accepted the proposal of Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus to lead this government. This decision was taken during a meeting at Banga Bhavan (President’s House) chaired by the country’s President Mohammad Shahabuddin. On the other hand, attacks on the leaders of Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League are continuing. Bodies of 20 more Awami League leaders have been recovered from across Bangladesh. Houses and business establishments of many Awami League leaders and workers are also being vandalized and looted.
