BCCI broke all records… IPL made huge profits, you will be surprised to know the figures!

The Indian Premium League (IPL) is the most popular cricket league in the world. Now a report has said that BCCI has made bumper profits from this league in 2023. The report claims that the company has registered 116 percent more profit in 2023 as compared to 2022. It has also been further told that along with the increase in the income of BCCI, the expenditure has also increased. Let us know how much profit BCCI has made from IPL 2023.

BCCI earned this much from IPL 2023
According to the report of Economics Times, BCCI has got a surplus of Rs 5120 crore from IPL. In the year 2022, BCCI got a surplus of Rs 2367 crore, which has now increased by 116 percent. According to the report, the total income from IPL 2023 has been Rs 11,769 crore. This is an increase of 78 percent year-on-year. BCCI’s expenditure has also increased by 66 percent to Rs 6,648 crore.

BCCI earned this much from here
BCCI has earned the most money from the media rights of IPL. Apart from this, the board has also received a huge amount from sponsors. The new media rights of IPL for 2023-27 are Rs 48,390 crore and this amount will be added to BCCI’s earnings for 2023. IPL TV rights were acquired by Disney Star for Rs 23,575 crore, while digital rights were acquired by Jio Cinema for Rs 23,758 crore. Tata Sons took the title sponsorship for Rs 2500 crore.

Big jump in earnings from media rights
BCCI has also earned Rs 1,485 crore as associate sponsorship from MyCircle11, RuPay, AngelOne and CEAT. The board’s earnings from media rights have increased by 131 percent to Rs 8,744 crore, while in IPL 2022 it was Rs 3,780 crore.

BCCI is the richest board in the world
BCCI has become the board that earns and keeps the most money in the world. In the financial year 2023, the bank balance of BCCI has reached Rs 16,493.2 crore, whereas last year this amount was Rs 10,991.29 crore. During the 2023 IPL season, the board has distributed almost double the amount of Rs 4,670 crore to the franchises from the central pool compared to last year’s Rs 2,205 crore.

WPL earned so much
The BCCI also earned a surplus of Rs 377 crore from the Women’s Premier League (WPL), which was launched in 2023. The board earned Rs 636 crore from the WPL through media rights, franchise fees and sponsorships, taking the total expenditure of the league to Rs 259 crore.
