‘Bangladesh should be made a satellite country of India…’, former Pakistani diplomat is celebrating Sheikh Hasina’s resignation

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to resign from her post and flee the country. The student movement that started last month took such a violent turn on Monday that the protesters started moving towards the Prime Minister’s residence in Dhaka and PM Hasina had to leave the country in a hurry. Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has said that an interim government will be formed to run the country. Some well-known people of Pakistan are very happy with the huge upheaval in Bangladesh and they are celebrating the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government.

Former Pakistani diplomat Abdul Basit, who was the High Commissioner of Pakistan to India, released a video as soon as the news of Sheikh Hasina’s resignation came out and expressed his happiness over it.

He said, ‘Many congratulations to the people of Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina has fled from Bangladesh and reached India. This will upset Prime Minister Modi and India a lot… In fact, recently he had even started saying that whatever is happening in Bangladesh, Pakistan has a hand in it because Pakistan supports the opposition parties of Bangladesh. I would like to say that unless the people are with you, no one’s support works.’
