‘Bangladesh-like situation will never be seen in India, because our force…’, Raza Murad told Salman Khurshid the reason

Famous actor Raza Murad says that conditions like the one in neighbouring country Bangladesh will never be seen in India, because our armed forces are disciplined and stay away from politics. Murad gave this reaction on the statement of Congress leader Salman Khurshid. Recently, Khurshid had created a controversy a day earlier by saying that even though everything seems normal on the surface, what is happening in Bangladesh can happen in India as well.

When asked about Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s comment, actor Murad said, “There will be no such thing as Bangladesh here. In a democracy, people have the right to express their opinion and Khurshid has expressed his opinion, but I firmly believe that this will not happen in India and it should not happen.”

The actor, who arrived in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal, said, “Our army has nothing to do with politics and it performs its duty with full responsibility. It never crosses the limit… It always comes forward to help people in natural disasters like floods, storms and earthquakes.”

Talking about the situation in Bangladesh, Murad said, in my 73 years of life, I have never seen such a scene that people are breaking into the Prime Minister’s residence and looting furniture. He said, “People may not agree with her (Sheikh Hasina) politically, but she is 75 years old and is like a mother. They should not have insulted her in this way.”

‘There should be censorship on OTT’

At the same time, on the objections to ‘obscenity’ in the content of OTT platforms, the veteran actor said, “Indecent language is used in these shows and women are shown characterless. All this spoils the atmosphere. This is only an attempt to earn money. I want to ask the producers who are making such content, can you watch it with your family? ‘Laxman Rekha’ is being crossed again and again… Such content should be banned and legal action should be taken.”

The actor further said, “Even objectionable words are removed from our parliamentary proceedings…OTT content is shown across the world, is this Indian culture? What impression are we giving about the country?”

Artists from MP get work

When asked about Madhya Pradesh emerging as a major film production hub, Murad said producers should hire at least 20 per cent local artistes, especially when they are taking subsidies from the state government.
