Badrinath: The Badrinath National Highway was completely blocked near Jogi Dhara near Joshimath on Tuesday. Let us tell you that more than 60 hours have passed but the road has not been opened yet. There are hundreds of vehicles in long queues on both sides. Pilgrims are stranded on both sides and in such a situation, the machines of the concerned department are continuously engaged day and night to open the blocked main road near Joshimath on the Badrinath National Highway.

The big thing is that in this hour of crisis, no pilgrim should have to face any kind of trouble and in such a situation, the people of Joshimath town have also come forward to help the pilgrims. Let us tell you that all the families of Sunil Ward of Joshimath town fed all the pilgrims respectfully with food prepared from their own homes. On the other hand, the volunteers of the Vyapar Sangh of Joshimath town also left no stone unturned. In the service of the pilgrims, all the volunteers of the Vyapar Sangh organized langar at various places every day and provided full food to all the pilgrims. Indian Army soldiers also came forward to help all the pilgrims. Indian Army soldiers organized their langar at different places and served all the pilgrims well.

SDRF Uttarakhand Police is helping the devotees

Meanwhile, the Badrinath National Highway, which was blocked due to heavy debris falling from the hill at Bhanerpani in Joshimath, has been opened for pedestrians. The SDRF Uttarakhand Police shared a video on Twitter, showing that several SDRF personnel are helping pilgrims and polling parties to cross this landslide-affected area on foot. The SDRF Uttarakhand Police wrote on Twitter that District Chamoli 11 July 2024 Badrinath National Highway opened for pedestrians and polling parties, travelers are being helped to cross the road safely by SDRF jawans.

Earlier on Wednesday, the road was blocked due to a landslide from a hill near the Patal Ganga Langsi tunnel on the Badrinath National Highway. Heavy rains in many parts of Uttarakhand for the last few days have caused landslides in the hills and the highway leading to Badrinath has been blocked at several places due to debris. Earlier on July 5, traffic was disrupted for several hours due to debris at two places on the Badrinath National Highway in Chamoli district. Meanwhile, Chamoli District Magistrate (DM) Himanshu Khurana also wrote on Twitter that due to the road being blocked in Joshimath, polling parties from remote polling stations like Drongiri, Jumma, Kosha and Arudhi Patudi are being transported with polling material from Joshimath to Gopeshwar by helicopter.
