Police have arrested three students in the case of gang rape in a school in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. All three students are minors, so the police have released the youngest accused of six years and sent the other two to a juvenile home. Police say that legally it will be called a case of attempted rape. Meanwhile, the education department has suspended the principal of the school and transferred the headmaster.
According to the information, this incident happened in a primary school on 3rd September. A woman had left her daughter at school at around 8 am as usual and came home. But after two-three hours the girl came home crying. The woman said that when she asked, the girl told that some boys had beaten her in the school. She was also having pain in her private part. The victim’s mother lodged a complaint in the local police station.
The complaint said that three students of her daughter’s school, aged between 6 and 11 years, beat her and attempted to rape her. Udham Singh Nagar Superintendent of Police (city) Manoj Katyal said that legally it would be called an attempt to rape. The police have arrested all three accused in this case. But a six-year-old child was sent home. Two other boys aged 10 and 11.5 years have been sent to remand home.
He said that based on the complaint of the victim’s mother, a case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand Education Department has suspended the principal of the primary school in view of this incident. Along with this, the headmaster has been transferred. District Basic Education Officer Harendra Mishra said that the negligence of the principal and headmaster has come to light in the incident.
Let us tell you that in August, a case of rape of a minor girl came to light. This incident was carried out in a roadways bus going from Delhi to Uttarakhand. The police took immediate action and arrested 5 people including the bus driver and conductor. The victim was a resident of Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The mental condition of the minor girl was not good since the incident. She reached Dehradun from Delhi on the night of 12 August.
Meanwhile, the minor was raped at midnight. In this case, Dehradun SSP said that 5 people were arrested and questioned. A CWC supervisor said that the minor girl was found in a distraught state between 2 and 2:30 in the morning on August 13. Her mental condition did not seem to be good. She was sent to the welfare center. After this, the police registered a case in this matter and started investigation.
