The holy month of Sawan has begun and with it the Kanwar Yatra has begun which is constantly making headlines. First the Yogi government issued an order to install nameplates for shops and dhabas coming on the route of the Yatra. Then the Supreme Court put an interim stay on it. The matter is currently in court.

Now the news has come that from the security point of view, ATS unit has been deployed for Kanwar Yatra in Muzaffarnagar. SSP Abhishek Singh said that ATS has been called to deal with any terrorist incident.

Tight security on Kanwar Yatra route

The Kanwar Yatra is passing through many districts of Uttar Pradesh. The UP Police has made tight security arrangements in the cities through which the Kanwariyas are passing. The police has increased the security of the Kanwar Yatra route in Noida and Hapur.

The Supreme Court heard the nameplate dispute for shops and eateries on the Kanwar Yatra route on Friday. The Uttar Pradesh government told the court that we should also respect the food choices of Shiva devotees. A bench of Justices Hrishikesh Roy and SVN Bhatti is hearing the case.

The court said- we cannot compel

The Supreme Court said, ‘Our order is clear that if someone wants to write his name outside the shop on his own will, then we have not stopped him. Our order was that one cannot be forced to write the name.’

The court had put an interim stay on the order of Uttar Pradesh government to compulsorily put nameplates on the shops on the Kanwar Yatra route, which was continued on Friday as well. The Supreme Court said that a counter affidavit should be filed on behalf of Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The next hearing in the case will now be held on Monday.
