Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan has died at the age of 33

Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, who burst onto the hip-hop scene in 2013, has died in Georgia, authorities said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner said in a statement that Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta notified its staff of the rapper’s death on Thursday.

He was 33 years old, the office said.

The cause and manner of death have not been disclosed. The medical examiner said an autopsy was conducted on Friday.

The artist, whose given name is DeQuantes Devonte Lamar, scored a big hit more than a decade ago with the song “Type of Way.” He followed it up in 2015 with “Flex (Oh, Oh, Oh)”.

Rapper Boosie Badaz posted about his friend’s death Social media.

He said the two had “good memories together that always put a smile on my face. #restupquan.”

Boosie Badaz said the two artists were working together before Rich Homie Quan’s death.

Wealthy Homi Kwan’s family and his management representatives could not be reached for comment Thursday afternoon.
