Assassination Attempt on Trump Fails, Former President Golfs at Bedminster the Next Day

Former President Donald Trump spent Sunday at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf club following an assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania the previous day. A video posted to social media showed Trump departing his plane at Newark Airport late Saturday night, flanked by Secret Service agents and members of the Counter Assault Team.

Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., said the former president was “doing fine” after being shot at during the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The suspected gunman, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was killed by the Secret Service. Two others were critically injured in the shooting.

Despite the attack, Trump remained at his Bedminster golf club on Sunday. A group of devoted supporters gathered at the club throughout the day, expressing their allegiance with campaign flags. Local resident Louis Damore, who took the day off from his air conditioning business, referred to Trump as his “superhero” and speculated that divine intervention likely saved the former president’s life.

Trump’s convoy was seen leaving the golf club on Sunday afternoon, heading to Newark Airport to attend the Republican National Convention in Wisconsin. The former president emphasized his commitment to not succumb to threats or intimidation, opting to proceed with his schedule as planned.

The assassination attempt and Trump’s subsequent golf outing sparked debate on social media, with some questioning the appropriateness of the former president playing golf after such a traumatic event[3]. However, others praised Trump for his resilience and determination to carry on with his duties despite the attack.
