As the family gathers to scatter grandfather’s ashes, the child does the unthinkable

A 9-year-old boy has gone viral after filming his beloved grandfather honoring him in a unique way.

Mom Amy Barton posted clip continued TikTok @whiskeybarton under the handle that his son is grabbing a handful of his grandfather’s ashes and throwing them into the creek instead of pouring them out of a bag like the rest of his family.

Barton, from Alabama, said Newsweek That the family gathered in July at a creek in Des Arc, Missouri — a special place where her husband’s father and uncles grew up and played as children. “She was His last wish“, added the 49-year-old.

She also explained that throwing ashes does not embarrass family members who see them.

“I personally would never hold ashes with my bare hands. An aunt behind her did too, so I take each to their own,” added Barton.
