The overall update is that AI (Artificial Intelligence) will help the Pakistani team. Using this, players who perform poorly will be removed. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has prepared a plan for this.
This entire plan is of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. According to Naqvi, using AI, the brilliant players playing in the Champions Cup will be evaluated, after which they will get entry in the Pakistani team. On the other hand, players with poor performance will be dropped from the team.
Actually, the Pakistani cricket team had a very poor performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. Pakistan also lost the recent Rawalpindi Test against Bangladesh. Now the Pakistani Cricket Board has talked about implementing the AI system in cricket.
Naqvi further said- Champions Cup will end in September and then records will be made for everyone. Whoever is not performing will be replaced immediately. It should not depend on anyone’s personal opinion and wishes.
Earlier, the PCB had named its top 5 cricketers as mentors of the teams in the Champions Cup. Mohsin Naqvi announced the decision through a press release, stating that Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik and Waqar Younis will mentor the 5 teams in the tournament and will help domestic cricketers raise their level of play.
There is no record of players in Pakistan, that’s why AI is used
In fact, recently the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had given a strange statement, in which he claimed that Pakistan’s domestic players do not have any data of their names, due to which there is a problem in the selection policy.
Naqvi said- We had many such players whose records we did not have. This cup will strengthen domestic cricket, we will have a pool of 150 players. Meanwhile, in a surprising statement, he further said that PCB used AI to create the team for the Champions Cup.
Regarding this, PCB Chairman Naqvi said- Out of the 150 players selected, 80% have been done by AI, and 20% using humans, no one can challenge it. We gave about 20% weightage to our selection committee. If we replace a player with a bad player, you will be the first to complain. In such a situation, we will have records and we will all be able to see transparently who deserves a place in the team.
