Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist arrested, A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was arrested on Tuesday during a search operation launched by security forces in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch, Rajouri, Kishtwar and Doda districts.Abdul Khalil, a resident of Bandipora in north Kashmir, was arrested from Surankot area of Poonch district during a counter-terrorism operation, officials said.
According to officials, a pistol and some ammunition were recovered from Hizbul terrorist Abdul Khalil. Khalil used to work as a guide during the infiltration of banned Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists across the border. Officials said that a mobile phone and several Pakistani SIM cards have been seized from the arrested terrorist.

The army laid siege to six villages
Officials said security forces launched a cordon and search operation in about six villages following information about movement of two suspected terrorists in Dehra Ki Gali area of Poonch. They said two armed suspects dressed in black were seen moving around in Salampura village near Dehra Ki Gali late Monday night. Immediately after receiving information, police launched a joint operation with the help of Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
The search operation is still on
Officials said suspected militants were seen moving towards lower Pangai area. They said search operation was on but the suspects were yet to be traced. Officials said security forces launched search operation in Sanai, Jungle, Pattan and adjoining villages in Surankot area of Poonch and Bangar-Saroor forest in Drabshalla area of Kishtwar district on Tuesday morning. They said search operation was also launched in Desa and adjoining forests of Doda and border areas of Lam and Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.
