Are there demons? Strange questions asked in school assignments, parents furious

Questions have been raised for centuries about the existence of God. This topic often becomes a part of debate. Those who believe in God have their own arguments, while those who do not believe in God also have their own arguments. But recently, some such questions of a school assignment in Oklahoma City, America created a controversy. This assignment and its questions are becoming increasingly viral on social media.

A picture of an assignment given to high school students in Oklahoma is rapidly going viral on social media. This picture was posted on Facebook by a student’s mother. As soon as this post was shared on Facebook, a controversy started regarding the questions asked in the assignment.

According to the Facebook post, if we look at the questions of the assignment, some of them were like this: Do demons really exist? Does God really exist? Obviously, controversy was bound to arise when such questions were raised. This debate became heated between atheists and believers. Many people raised the question as to why such questions were asked to innocent school children.

The student’s mother posted a picture of the questions asked in the assignment. Olivia Gray wrote in the post that this is an assignment for a high school class in Oklahoma. What is the point of such questions in the subject of world history? Such questions are crazy and nonsense.

What was the reaction on social media

After this post on Facebook, angry comments also came in the comment section, most of the users complained that what is the need of such questions in the assignments of school children, where the existence of Satan is questioned. One user said that this assignment is imposing one’s opinion on religious beliefs, someone raised the question that why is it necessary to include topics like Satan and God in school studies.

However, some people believed that these basic questions are important in a subject like world history. They argued that such questions can develop students’ logical power, which will enable them to decide what is right and wrong in the future.

After the post went viral, the school gave clarification

Skiatook Public Schools clarified about the World History assignment. He said that the administration reviewed the assignment and concluded that asking such questions to children is not in keeping with our vision of education. We will continue to meet academic standards in the future.
