Piyush Mishra and Anurag Kashyap are old friends. Both have worked together on many projects. Piyush contributed in many ways to Anurag’s Gulaal film. Apart from writing the music, lyrics and dialogues of the film, he also acted and sang songs. For this, he got only Rs 2 lakh. Piyush told that Anurag is such a genuine person that anyone is ready to cut his fees to work with him.
However, now the relationship between Piyush and Anurag has soured a bit. In different interviews, both of them have said that the reason for this difference is the difference in their thinking.
‘Anurag is everyone’s darling’

Piyush, in an interview to Dainik Jagran, said about the different duties he performed in Gulaal, “Yes, but no one asked for money. This was Anurag’s period of struggle and everyone wanted to help him. His film Paanch was stalled, Black Friday was in trouble and he was everyone’s darling. I took a total of 2 lakh rupees for music, singing, lyrics, acting and my own dialogues. The most important thing at that time was that his film should get released. He was everyone’s darling, the kind of man he was. I don’t know how he is now, but at that time he was a very honest man.
Affection is like a bone stuck in the throat
However, before this Piyush has also talked to Lallantop about his spoiled relationship with Anurag. He had said- My relationship with him is such that we meet after a few years, but after 15 minutes we have nothing left to talk about. We drink coffee and smoke cigarettes and our relationship ends. I have nothing left to say, he has nothing left to say, so the conversation ends. Our thoughts do not match, our political thoughts do not match, our moral thoughts do not match. However, our emotional thoughts are the same.
Piyush further said- He is like a bone stuck in my throat. I can’t swallow it, and I can’t spit it out. This is our relationship. I can’t sit with him for long. We have nothing to talk about. He is a cinema buff, and I don’t watch movies. What should I talk to him about?
However, despite their on and off relationship, Piyush had worked with Anurag in Gangs of Wasseypur, while Anurag also launched Piyush’s autobiography ‘Tumhari Aukaat Kya Hai’ Piyush Mishra.
