Now in a Kangaroo Court in Fulbari area of Jalpaiguri, people beat up a woman badly. After this incident, the woman allegedly committed suicide. It is said that the woman was having an affair with someone else, for which she was punished in the Panchayat. This incident is of 29th June. Let us tell you that a few days ago, a video of a woman being beaten up in Chopra area of North Dinajpur has also surfaced. Here, the person who beat the woman is a local leader of Trinamool Congress and close to the MLA.
The victim woman committed suicide
The woman’s husband says that ‘some women beat my wife in front of everyone in the Panchayat. After this, she ended her life by consuming some poisonous substance. I complained about this to the police. I told that I could not tolerate the insult my wife faced in the Panchayat.’ It is alleged that the woman was having an affair with someone else and she was missing for the last 10 days. The husband had lodged a complaint about his wife’s disappearance in the New Jalpaiguri Police Station.
A woman was beaten up in the Panchayat
According to reports, when the woman returned home on Monday, local women questioned her character and abused and beat her up in public. When her husband tried to intervene, he was also beaten up. According to the complaint, unable to bear the humiliation, the woman committed suicide by consuming pesticide late Monday night.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deepak Sarkar said that four people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the case. New Jalpaiguri Police Station in-charge Nirmal Das said that we have arrested four people after two complaints. After this incident, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has targeted the Mamata government. BJP MLA Shikha Chatterjee said that ‘Most of the women are being suppressed in the Mamata government. Mamata Banerjee should resign immediately. Calling someone to a kangaroo court and then beating him is a heinous crime.’ On the other hand, TMC spokesperson Jayprakash Majumdar said on this incident, ‘Such incidents are social problems. There should be no politics on this. All political parties should come forward to end such evils.’
