Announcement of revenge, drills and display of weapons… does the Iranian army have the strength to crush Israel?

Iran-Israel Military Power Comparison: Amidst the news of the coup in Bangladesh, the whole world’s eyes are on Iran. Because it is feared that Iran can attack Israel in the next few hours. In view of this possible attack, Israel’s friendly countries have started deploying their war weapons in the Gulf. Despite the mediation and talks of many countries, Iran is not ready to back down at the moment. In such a situation, it becomes important to know the military strength of these two countries.

Anything can happen in 24 to 48 hours
The next 24 to 48 hours can be very important for Iran, Israel and the entire Middle East. Because Iran can attack Israel in the next one to two days. Angry with the murder of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyya on July 31 in the capital Tehran, Iran has threatened to teach Israel a lesson and now it is believed that Iran can open a war front at any time. On the one hand, American news agency Axios, citing its sources, has expressed the possibility of an attack and said that it will start in 24 to 48 hours, while on the other hand, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has also warned the G-7 countries about this possible attack. However, Blinken has denied having any accurate information about the timing of the attack.

What happens if there is an attack?
In such a situation, the question arises that what will happen if Iran really attacks Israel? How will Israel retaliate? Will the friendly countries and organizations of both the countries also jump into this war after this attack? And most importantly, what is the military strength of Iran and Israel? And how much damage do both the countries have the capacity to cause to each other? So let us try to find answers to all these important questions in a systematic manner.

Israel is also ready to attack Iran
In view of the possibility of an attack from Iran, Israel has also made its stand clear. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear that if he gets strong intelligence inputs that Iran can attack them, then Israel can consider a preemptive attack to stop Iran. In view of this threat looming over Israel, on Sunday Netanyahu held a meeting with other top officials including the Chief of the Israeli Army i.e. Israel Defense Force Lieutenant General Harzi Halevi, Mossad Chief David Barnia and Shin Bet Chief Ronen Bar and made it clear that if anyone from Iran or Hezbollah makes the mistake of provoking them, then they will not sit quiet.

America and Britain deployed fighter jets and warships
The dangerous turn that the tension between Iran and Israel has reached can be gauged from the fact that friendly countries like America and Britain have started deploying their fighter jets and warships around Israel to help it. Britain has kept Royal Navy ships as well as RAF helicopters on standby. Looking at the current situation, it seems that Iran has linked the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniya and Hezbollah’s military chief Fuad Shukar to its prestige and wants to target Israel at any cost.

try to reduce stress
Iran’s neighbouring countries like Jordan and Lebanon have started diplomatic efforts to reduce the tensions after the death of both, but Iran is not relenting from its intention. According to a report, the foreign ministers of Jordan and Lebanon also visited Iran to take stock of the situation and reduce tensions after Hania’s death, but Iran made it clear that it will attack Israel under any circumstances, even if it leads to a full-fledged war.

Former CIA chief gave advice
In an interview given to Iran International, former director of the American intelligence agency CIA, David Petraeus, has expressed the hope that even if Iran attacks Israel, both the countries would like to avoid jumping into a full-fledged war at this time, because if a full-fledged war breaks out between the two countries, both the countries will suffer terrible losses and both Iran and Israel would not want this. He said that the way Ismail Haniya was killed inside Tehran is a big intelligence and security failure and a big setback for Iran.

Which country is with whom?
Now the question is who will support whom in case of war and how? If sources are to be believed, Iran can get help in this attack from Hezbollah in Lebanon, militias of Syria and Iraq and Houthi rebels of Yemen, but none of these countries have openly said that they will support Iran so far. Although Russia and China have definitely supported Iran, but it is not clear how much and what kind of support these two countries will give to Iran in case of war. Whereas before this, Jordan’s stance has been neutral. Because earlier when Iran fired missiles on Israel, then along with America, Jordan also helped Israel. At the same time, Saudi Arabia and UAE also provided inputs to America. The special thing is that if missiles are fired from Iran, Iraq or Yemen targeting Israel, then they will have to cross the sky of Jordan, and Jordan had made it clear last time that it will not allow anyone from Iran and Israel to violate its airspace.

Countries divided into two camps
But despite this, if we try to understand the countries divided into camps, then countries like Palestine, Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, Oman, Russia and China are standing with Iran. Whereas most of the European countries including America, France, Britain, Germany, Australia are with Israel. In such a situation, military experts of the world consider both camps to be equal. Especially if we talk about Israel and Iran, then the competition is equal. If we talk about Global Fire Power Index, then Iran is at number 14 in the world, while Israel is at number 17.

Israel’s air force is counted among the most powerful air forces in the Middle East, which can prove to be a big threat to Iran.

Israel has nuclear bomb
Israel is also believed to have nuclear weapons. Washington’s Nuclear Threat Initiative estimates that Israel has about 90 nuclear weapons. Whereas there is no news of Iran having a nuclear bomb so far. However, Iran has been continuously trying to make a nuclear bomb.

If we look at it from this perspective, the military strength of both the countries is almost equal. One is ahead in one aspect, the other in some other aspect. But Iran has no answer to Israel’s 90 nuclear bombs. In such a situation, if we talk only about strength, then Israel is ahead. But it is hoped that this war will not escalate so much that it reaches that point.
