Ankit Panghal denies sister’s detention and deportation in Paris, statement comes out for the first time

After facing defeat in the Paris Olympics, Antim Panghal, who was embroiled in controversy, has come out with a clarification. He has denied the news of his sister being detained and deported in Paris. In fact, on Wednesday night, it was revealed that the sister of 53 kg Indian wrestler Antim tried to enter the sports village using his accreditation card. During this, the security personnel took her into custody and later asked Antim Panghal to leave Paris with his coach and other staff. Now Antim has released a video regarding this, in which he explained the whole matter in detail.

Antim shared a video of more than 3 minutes and said, “I came to Paris to play Olympics. I had a bout yesterday. But I lost the bout because I was not having a good day. And the rumours going around since yesterday that the police have taken Antim’s sister away are not true. Yesterday when I lost the bout, I was very sick, so my sister was asking to be taken to the hotel where she lives. I had taken permission from the Indian coach. He had also given me permission. After this, I came to the hotel with my sister. After coming here, I needed my luggage which was in the Games Village. I fell asleep due to ill health, so my sister took my accreditation card and went to the Games Village to get my luggage. She went there and asked that this is my sister’s card, she is unwell, so can I take her luggage? They saw the accreditation card and took it. Then they took her to the police station for verification. She was taken to the police station only for accreditation card verification. He was taken there. After this, he was sent back after giving him an accreditation card.”

The female wrestler further said, “It is also being said that the coach has quarreled with the cab driver, this is also wrong. After losing the bout, I came to the hotel but the coach stayed in the village. He was also very upset, we had booked a cab for him. After this, he also came to the hotel. There was a little problem due to our language being different. Because the cab driver was saying that we do not have enough Euros, we will go up to the hotel and get Euros. The cab driver did not understand our language and we did not understand his. After this, one of my coaches brought Euros from the hotel upstairs, it took 5 minutes, so there was a little fight with the cab driver downstairs. Nothing much had happened, as much is being spread. And as far as coming to India (deportation) is concerned, when my bout took place, I had called the federation and asked them to book my flight today or tomorrow, I am coming to India. So my flight was booked before all this happened. I request everyone not to spread such things. I have had a very bad day. Please support me.”
