It has been many months since Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi web series was released. But it is still being talked about. Jason Shah, who played the role of British officer Cartwright in the series, has expressed his displeasure with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. According to Jason, Bhansali did not direct most of his scenes. Because of this, his talent could not be showcased properly.

Hiramandi was released on 1 May. Every cast of the series got recognition from it. It was praised a lot, but three months after its streaming, Jason Shah started facing problems. According to Jason, he did not get the right opportunity. In a conversation with Rishabh Podcast, Jason told that he wanted to say a lot, but did not say it because then he would have been given the tag of a troublemaker.

Jason said- This was his first time working in a web series. Films are a little different because web is a little spread out, you have to make a lot of episodes, and it is not made in a short time… He was not even directing that much. There were other directors with me. I felt that we could have worked a little more on it, and a lot of colors could have come out. I think those scenes had so much capability.
‘Trouble Maker’ Jason
Along with this, Jason told that there was a lack of communication on the sets of Hiramandi. He also said that if there was scope for exploration, he could have done a lot more with his character. Jason said, “What did not happen was the depth of the character. If you look at Gandhi, with Ben Kingsley, he truly shows how far racism can go. The ongoing battle between a person who understands himself, and another human being…”
When asked if he put forward his points to the director or expressed his concern, Jason laughed and said, “I think I have said enough. If I had said anything more, I would have become a trouble maker.” Earlier, Jason had said that he used to feel different on the set. The atmosphere on the set was not very good.
