Pawan Kalyan, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Monday said he has refused to accept his salary and any special allowance, including new furniture for his office, in view of the poor economic condition of the state. The Deputy Chief Minister said that recently officials at his camp office had asked him about renovating the office and buying new furniture, but he refused.

Don’t buy new furniture, I will bring it

“They (officials) asked what to do about the camp office (renovation) and repairs. I told them not to do anything and leave it. I told them not to buy any new furniture and if needed, I will bring it myself,” Deputy Chief Minister Kalyan said while addressing a meeting after attending the Kalyan pension distribution programme.

Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan said secretariat officials had come to take his signature on documents related to his salary of Rs 35,000 for attending the House for three days, but I told them I cannot take the salary. Kalyan claimed that the Panchayat Raj Department lacks sufficient funds, which is why he refused to take the salary. Deputy Chief Minister Kalyan is the minister of Panchayati Raj Department.
