‘…and I am contesting for the US presidency’, Kamala Harris shared a video, targeting Trump

Preparations have intensified for the presidential election to be held on November 5 in the US. The Democratic and Republican parties are face to face in the election. After Joe Biden withdrew his candidacy from the Democratic side, Kamala Harris has now joined the race for this post. Regarding this, she shared a video on Thursday announcing her entry into the election fray. With this video, Kamala Harris wrote, ‘I am Kamala Harris and I am contesting for the post of President of the United States of America.’

In fact, Kamala Harris’s candidacy was already considered certain after Biden refused to contest the election. Biden also supported her name. Kamala Harris secured the support of enough Democratic delegates to win the party’s nomination for the presidency. Kamala Harris has received the support of more than 1976 delegates for the presidential candidacy. She garnered the party’s support within 36 hours of Biden’s withdrawal from the race.

Now Kamal Harris has shared her election video on X. In this video, she targeted Republican candidate Donald Trump and made promises to the people of America for the bright future of America and appealed to the people to support Kamala Harris. The video said, ‘There is a question before all of us in this election. What kind of country do we want to live in? There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos, fear and hate. But we, we choose something different. We choose freedom.’

The video further said, “Freedom to not only live, but to move. Freedom to be safe from gun violence. Freedom to make decisions about your own body. We choose a future where no child lives in poverty. Where we can all afford healthcare. Where no one is above the law. We believe in the promise of America and we’re ready to fight for it. Harris began his career as a lawyer

She became San Francisco’s top prosecutor in 2003. In 2010, she became the first woman and the first black person to become California’s attorney. In 2017, Harris was elected the junior US Senator from California.
