An event that happens once in 10 crores… The world’s rarest lobster found

Joseph Kramer, a fisherman from New Hampshire, USA, was catching fish and lobsters in the sea. It was the end of July. His intention was to earn a good income. But then he saw a blue lobster looking at him. It was trapped in his net. It was too beautiful to be eaten.

It happens many times that you keep looking at the beauty of the food. You don’t feel like eating it. This lobster is equally beautiful. This blue lobster has small spots of purple and pink colour on its body. Like a vessel made of Chinese pottery. Joseph has caught blue lobsters before as well. But not like this.

This lobster found by chance was removed from the food plate. It was taken to the Seacoast Science Center. Now it has been kept here for exhibition. On investigation, it was found that it is a Cotton Candy Lobster. Which is extremely rare. It is seen only once in 10 crores.

Not brown like other lobsters

These lobsters are not brown, black or chocolate colored like their other counterparts. Due to their color, they are easily hunted. That is why they are not easily visible. Earlier in 2018, a cotton candy lobster, which was lighter in color than Joseph’s lobster, was seen on the coast of Canada.

A color effect is caused by a genetic mutation

When you take out the lobsters which usually look brown, out of the water, you will see that there are red, yellow and blue pigments on their body. That is, specks. Sometimes due to genetic mutation, one color becomes more dominant. The rest are not visible.

This lobster is the rarest to see

A completely red lobster is seen once in 1 crore. A completely orange, yellow or mixed coloured lobster is seen once in 3 to 5 crore. But a cotton candy lobster or an albino lobster is seen once in 10 crore. This is no less than a good news for Joseph Kramer.
