‘An achievement that will be remembered for generations to come’, PM Modi’s post on Indian hockey team’s victory in Olympics

The Indian men’s hockey team won its second consecutive bronze medal at the Olympic Games by defeating Spain 2-1 in the third place playoff match on Thursday. Captain Harmanpreet Singh (30th, 33rd minutes) scored two goals for India, while Spain’s only goal was scored by captain Marc Miralles from a penalty stroke in the 18th minute. After this spectacular victory, many leaders and celebrities including President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian hockey team.
