Amrit Lal Meena became the new Chief Secretary of Bihar, took charge after Mehrotra retired

Senior IAS officer Amrit Lal Meena has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Bihar. On Saturday, he took charge as the new Chief Secretary of Bihar.

Meena, a 1989 batch officer, was earlier on central deputation. IAS Amrit Lal Meena has replaced Brajesh Mehrotra.

Mehrotra retired from his job on August 31. Earlier on Friday, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet had approved the return of Meena, who is working as a secretary in the Union Coal Ministry, to Bihar on the request of the Nitish Kumar government.

Meena met the Chief Minister on assuming the new charge. Apart from being the Additional Chief Secretary in the Road Construction Department, Meena has also held many other important posts in the state government.

Amrit Lal Meena is a resident of Rajasthan

Let us tell you that Amrit Lal Meena is originally from Karauli district of Rajasthan. There is a wave of happiness in his village Dabra. After being made the Chief Secretary of Bihar, people in Dabra fed sweets to each other.

Amritlal Meena’s brother is also a government engineer. Amritlal Meena will retire from his job in August 2025. That means he will work as the Chief Secretary of Bihar for the next one year.
