Amit Shah held a meeting with security agencies
Amit Shah, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Friday held a meeting with the heads of various security and law enforcement agencies. During this, he reviewed the functioning of the Multi Agency Center (MAC) of the Information Bureau, which is responsible for dealing with the security challenges of the country. Addressing the meeting, the Union Home Minister directed the heads of various security agencies, including intelligence and enforcement agencies across the country, to adopt a government-to-government approach towards national security.
He emphasized on greater synergy among all agencies to eliminate terrorist networks and their supporting eco-systems to deal with the emerging security threat scenario in the country. During this, the Home Minister asked all the participants to increase their participation in the Multi Agency Center and make it a harmonious platform. Let us tell you that this center brings together all law enforcement agencies, anti-drugs agencies, cyber security and intelligence agencies for decisive and prompt action.
Ready to implement technical and operational improvements
The Home Minister emphasized that the Multi Agency Centre has earned the trust of its constituents and it must continue to function 24X7 as a platform for sharing pro-active and real time actionable information among various stakeholders including the last responders. The Union Home Minister informed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the MAC framework is set to implement major technological and operational improvements to enhance its reach and effectiveness. He called upon all stakeholders to take these efforts forward through prompt responses and aggressive follow up of the information shared.
A team of dynamic officers should be formed
During the meeting, the Union Home Minister emphasized on forming a team of young, technically skilled and dynamic officers from all agencies involved in national security to dismantle the terrorist ecosystem by using Big Data and AI/ML driven analytics and technological advancements. He reiterated that we have to always be one step ahead in our response in view of new and emerging security challenges.
