Amit Malviya Biography – Early Life, Political Career & Other Details!

Amit Malviya is a prominent figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), serving as the national in-charge of the Information & Technology department and co-incharge for West Bengal. He has played a significant role in the party’s digital campaigns and strategy.

Early Life and Career

Malviya started his career in the banking sector, working at various institutions such as ICICI Bank, Calyon, HSBC, Bank of America, and Bengaluru[1][3]. He held positions like Assistant Manager, Business Analyst, Sr Vice President, and Vice President during his banking career.

Political Journey

Malviya’s involvement with the BJP began in 2009 when he co-founded the “Friends of BJP” forum, which aimed to publicize the party and help it win more seats in the then-upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In 2015, he moved to Delhi to lead the BJP’s IT Cell.

In 2020, Malviya was appointed as the co-incharge to oversee party affairs in West Bengal ahead of the 2021 Legislative Assembly elections in the state[1][5]. He is also a member of the BJP’s National Executive.

Controversies

Malviya has faced criticism for spreading disinformation and peddling fake news from the BJP’s social media handles[1]. He has been accused of posting misleading videos and making controversial remarks, such as comparing former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to Hardik Patel.

In 2023, Malviya received criticism from senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot for claiming that his father bombed Mizoram as an air force pilot on 5 March 1966.

Despite the controversies, Amit Malviya continues to play a prominent role in the BJP’s digital campaigns and strategy, leveraging his expertise in technology and social media to further the party’s agenda.
