American game behind Bangladesh’s rebellion? What is Sheikh Hasina’s son pointing towards?

There has been a coup against the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed has said that external forces are behind the removal of his mother from power. He has indicated that there may be an American game plan behind the situation in Bangladesh. He has also expressed apprehension of Pakistan’s hand behind this.

Talking to Aaj Tak, Sajeeb Wazed said, ‘I cannot tell who has done this but we suspect that Pakistan or America could be behind this. Who knows… Pakistan will definitely do this because it does not want a strong government to be formed in Bangladesh. It wants to trouble India from the east.’

Talking about America, Sheikh Hasina’s son further said, ‘America does not want a strong government, it wants a weak government in Bangladesh. It wants a government that it can control and it cannot control Sheikh Hasina.’

What are the analysts saying?

Although the current situation in Bangladesh started with the issue of reservation in government jobs for the family members of freedom fighters, but seeing the massive form that the movement has taken today, many well-known analysts are also of the opinion that there is some external force behind it.

Well-known strategic analyst Brahma Chellaney has written an article in which he has speculated that America may be behind the situation in Bangladesh.

Sharing her article on the social media site X, he commented, ‘Leading a secular government that the Islamists hated, Hasina led Bangladesh to rapid economic growth. But powerful external forces stood against her. Her decision to give the Teesta project to India angered China. And, sadly, Biden was also after her.’
