After 297 days, Israel took revenge for the biggest terrorist attack. Israel entered Iran and killed the Hamas chief. Israel entered Tehran and killed Hamas chief Ismail Haniya. In fact, in the Israel-Palestine dispute, Ismail Haniya was one such name, who had kept the torch of Palestine and Hamas’s purpose burning for the last three decades. Even despite the extremely barbaric and cowardly terrorist attack on 7 October 2023, Ismail Haniya refused to give up the path of violent resistance in Palestine’s war against Israel. The result was that not only Ismail Haniya but almost his entire family was wiped out.

For the last 9 months, Israel has been wreaking havoc on Palestine. Israel has left no stone unturned in turning the Gaza Strip into a graveyard. Whenever Israel detonated bombs in Gaza, Ismail Haniya’s family was destroyed. After the massacre carried out by Hamas terrorists in Israel on 7 October 2023, Ismail Haniya was on the top target of the Israeli army. Ismail Haniya himself was living a safe life in Qatar, away from Gaza, but here in Palestine, his family was getting wiped out one by one.

Now that Israel has destroyed the enemy by entering their home, different reactions are coming from countries around the world. While on one hand some countries are supporting Israel, countries like China and Russia have protested. After this action of Israel, Iran has put a red flag on the dome of Jamkaran Mosque in Qom in protest. This red flag is considered a symbol of revenge, which is a sign of increasing tension and a possible retaliatory attack against Israel.

Iran warns Israel

Israeli President Masoud Pezeshkian, whose swearing-in ceremony Haniyeh was in Tehran to celebrate, said in a post on XTV, “The Islamic Republic of Iran will defend its territorial integrity, honor, pride and dignity and will make the terrorist aggressors regret their cowardly actions.”

Meanwhile, a statement by Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said, “The criminal and terrorist Zionist regime has martyred our dear guest in our home and made us sad, but it has also prepared a harsh punishment for itself.”

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas strongly condemned the incident, calling it a “cowardly act and a dangerous incident”. The president also called on Palestinians to remain united and maintain patience and perseverance in the face of Israeli occupation.

Israel got the support of America and Australia

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the US had no knowledge of Haniya’s death and was not involved in it. He reiterated his demand for a ceasefire and the release of Israelis held captive by Hamas in Gaza.

However, according to reports, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, while talking to the media, said that if Israel is attacked, then America will help it. When Austin was asked whether Israel had a hand in Haniya’s murder and whether America had any information? On this, Austin said that he did not have any information.

Australia has also supported Israel in this regard. Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles said, “This person was the main center of the activities that took place on October 7, activities which we have been constantly condemning. Despite this, we have been constantly advocating for a ceasefire in the Middle East so that the devastation that has been caused can come to an end. We definitely want to ensure that we do not see an increase in this. Because its consequences will be very serious.”

These countries expressed opposition

On the other hand, China condemned Israel’s move. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said, “We are extremely concerned about this incident and strongly oppose and condemn the killing. A comprehensive and permanent ceasefire should be established in Gaza as soon as possible.”

“The combination of this regional tension with the lack of progress in the ceasefire talks in Gaza increases the complexity of the situation and indicates Israel’s lack of political will to calm it down,” Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement. “This undermines the strenuous efforts made by Egypt and its allies to stop the war in the Gaza Strip and end the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people.”

Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “Malaysia calls for an immediate and thorough investigation into the murder and for those responsible to be brought to justice. Malaysia also urges all parties to exercise restraint until the facts surrounding the murder are confirmed. This incident underlines the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and reinforces the need for all parties to engage in constructive dialogue and seek a peaceful solution.”

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who has led Qatar’s mediation efforts, wrote on X: “Political killings and the continued targeting of civilians while negotiations continue in Gaza force us to question how mediation can succeed when one side assassinates the other side’s negotiator? Peace requires serious partners.”

“This is a completely unacceptable political assassination and will further escalate tensions,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.

Meanwhile, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Haniyeh’s killing once again shows that Israel’s Netanyahu government has no intention of establishing peace. If the international community does not take action to stop Israel, the region will have to face even bigger conflicts.”
