‘Alliance with Congress is mismatched and selfish…’, AAP leader Somnath Bharti openly opposed the alliance in Haryana

Voting is to be held on 5 October for 90 assembly seats in Haryana. All parties are busy with preparations. But the most discussed topic is the alliance between Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. Several rounds of meetings have been held regarding the alliance. But no consensus has been reached. Many leaders of both the parties are also expressing displeasure over this alliance. Meanwhile, AAP MLA Somnath Bharti has also expressed displeasure over the news of a possible alliance with Congress in Haryana.

what did somnath bharti say

AAP MLA Somnath Bharti called the alliance with Congress a mismatch and questioned Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. He said that Congress and BJP secretly work together to defeat the Aam Aadmi Party. Bharti said that during the Lok Sabha elections, no campaigning was done for AAP candidates by Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka and Kharge in Delhi. He alleged that Congress leaders helped BJP and the alleged liquor scam in which Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leaders went to jail was a conspiracy of Congress leader Ajay Maken.

Demand to contest election alone

Somnath Bharti has demanded from the AAP party leadership that it should contest all the seats in Haryana and Delhi alone. Somnath Bharti said that before forming an AAP-Congress alliance in Haryana, the Aam Aadmi Party should evaluate the effectiveness of a similar alliance formed in Delhi during the Lok Sabha elections. He said that our national convenor Arvind Kejriwal ji did road shows for all the three Congress candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, senior AAP leaders and cabinet ministers campaigned for the Congress candidates. But the AAP candidates, especially me, were not supported at all by the Delhi Congress and local leaders.

‘Congress did not support in the Lok Sabha elections’

Somnath Bharti said that senior Congress leader Ajay Maken had even refused to meet him during the elections. Local leaders like Jitender Kochar (in Malviya Nagar) worked against this alliance and allegedly sought votes for the BJP MP candidate for money. He said that Aam Aadmi Party supporters are not in favour of such a mismatched and selfish alliance and Aam Aadmi Party should contest all the seats in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi on its own.

What did Bharti say about BJP

The AAP MLA also made allegations against the BJP. He said that Haryana BJP is facing a crisis. There are massive internal conflicts in the Congress as well. Haryana is Kejriwal’s home state, so the Aam Aadmi Party should contest all 90 seats on its own to give the first non-BJP and non-Congress government in Haryana. He said that we should not forget that the imaginary liquor scam which gave the BJP a reason to arrest our leaders for months and years was plotted and pursued vigorously by Ajay Maken. When it comes to defeating the Aam Aadmi Party, both the BJP and the Congress work together openly or secretly.
