During the discussion on the budget in the Parliament, a debate was seen between Samajwadi Party’s national president Akhilesh Yadav and BJP MP Anurag Thakur on the Agniveer scheme. Akhilesh Yadav asked the government that if the Agniveer scheme is so good, then why do you ask the states to give 10 percent quota. On this, BJP MP from Hamirpur seat Anurag Thakur replied that there is and will be 100 percent employment guarantee in Agniveer.
Akhilesh Yadav said in the Parliament that no youth who prepares for the army can ever accept this. Targeting the government, the SP president said, “When the scheme was first introduced, big industrialists were made to tweet that there is no better scheme than this. We will employ them. The government itself accepts that this scheme is not right. That is why they are telling their state governments to give quota and jobs to those Agniveers who will return.”
Meanwhile, when Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur spoke from the ruling party, Akhilesh Yadav said that I will sit down, you stand up and say that the plan is okay.

Anurag Thakur replied to Akhilesh
After this Anurag Thakur said, “I come from Himachal, which gave the first Param Vir Chakra winner Major Somnath Sharma. The most martyrs in the Kargil war were brave youth from Himachal Pradesh. Four Param Vir Chakra winners, including two Captain Vikram Batra and Subedar Sanjay Kumar, were from Himachal. There was a long standing demand for one rank-one pension. No government fulfilled it. The Modi government fulfilled it. Akhilesh Yadav ji listen, there is and will be 100 percent employment guarantee in Agniveer.”
Akhilesh again asked a question to Anurag Thakur
After this, the Kannauj MP said that I want to say another thing that why do you have to give 10 percent quota to the states. Akhilesh Yadav asked Anurag Thakur, “Where is Chail? Have you ever been to that military school? I myself have studied in a military school. You are talking about Param Vir Chakra, we can also count many names of those who have received Param Vir Chakra.”
On this, Anurag Thakur said, “He has only gone to a military school. I am still serving in the army with the rank of Captain. Akhilesh ji, don’t just share knowledge. You have also got into the habit of lying while sitting with Rahul Gandhi ji and spreading your arms.”
Akhilesh took a dig at BJP
On the statement of the BJP MP, Akhilesh said, “Perhaps the minister is no more, that is why there is more pain. I will tell you the pain. Ever since we have lost in UP, no one is greeting, that is your problem. We have seen that video that no one is greeting anyone, no one is looking at anyone. Those who used to call themselves very powerful, they are not able to remove the person who defeated them. Now you did not understand, right? Samajwadi people cannot accept the Agniveer system. Whenever we come to power, we will end this system within a year or two.”
