Airtel’s big decision, this service will be discontinued after 10 years, consumers will get something new

Airtel is shutting down its music service Wynk Music. The company will shut it down soon. Along with this, Airtel has partnered with Apple, which will give consumers access to music and video content. The company will give access to Apple TV + and Apple Music to its customers.

Both these services will be available to consumers by the end of this year. According to PTI, the company’s spokesperson said, ‘We confirm that the Wynk Music service is going to be shut down and all its employees will become a part of the Airtel ecosystem.’

Wynk Music was launched 10 years ago

Users who have subscribed to Airtel’s music streaming service Wink Premium Those who have subscribed to Airtel will get access to Apple Music. If reports are to be believed, Airtel will shut down the service of Wynk Music in the next few months. The brand launched this service 10 years ago.

It was started in 2014. The number of subscribers on Wynk Music service is around 10 crores. Under the new deal, Apple TV+ will be integrated into Airtel’s video streaming platform Xstream. Its access will be available under the premium subscription plan.

However, Airtel has not given any information on what terms or price this deal has been done. If reports are to be believed, Airtel has decided to shut down Wynk Music because it does not make any commercial sense to run it without a monetization plan.

You will get access to Apple Music and Apple TV+

According to a Moneycontrol report, a person associated with the matter said, ‘Music streaming monetization is low in India. Airtel wants to offer a better service. Apple is an established player in the global market. This partnership will help Apple increase subscribers in India.’

Under this partnership, Airtel will be able to offer Apple Music subscription at a better and lower rate than Apple. These plans will be exclusive to Airtel customers and these plans cannot be accessed through other telecom operators.
