It is noteworthy that 69 thousand candidates of teacher recruitment have started a movement by gheraoing the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) from Tuesday. These reserved category candidates are demanding to prepare a new merit list soon and release the recruitment program. All of them are demanding to follow the order of the High Court.

Now the question has also arisen on the future of those teachers who have been working for 4 years after getting a place in the merit in this recruitment exam.

In the 69 thousand teacher recruitment case in UP, on August 16, 2024, the High Court gave a big decision and the double bench of the court canceled the merit list of assistant teacher recruitment. Also ordered the government to follow Section 3 (6) of the Reservation Rules 1994 and Basic Education Rules 1981. In fact, the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court ordered to release the result of 69,000 assistant teacher recruitment examination afresh. Now the Basic Education Department will have to release a new selection list in 3 months. At the same time, this order of Allahabad High Court has given a big blow to the UP government. With the preparation of the new selection list, thousands of teachers who have been working for the last 4 years will lose their jobs.
