After the coup in Bangladesh, terrorist organizations now have their eyes on India, fear of Pakistani conspiracy

The impact of the political upheaval in Bangladesh is also being seen on India. On one hand, while the challenges on the borders have increased, the threat of terrorist organizations becoming active has also increased after this incident. This is because even though it is being said that the students have created an atmosphere against the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh. But all the intelligence reports show that active terrorist organizations were behind this violence, whose conspiracy was also against Bangladeshi Hindus.

According to the report, Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has allegedly partnered with Bangladesh’s Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) to carry out terrorist attacks in India’s northeastern states. Intelligence reveals that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) played a major role in this change in Bangladesh. It had the support of Jamaat-e-Islami and other terrorist groups including ABT. The report reveals that an agreement was reached between ABT and LeT in 2022, with the aim of carrying out terrorist attacks in India.

The Tripura incident created this terrorist alliance

The report suggests that Lashkar and ABT formed this alliance after reports of damage to mosques in Tripura. Intelligence inputs from 2022 indicated that around 50 to 100 ABT cadres were planning to infiltrate Tripura. But many of these people were arrested.

What is Ansarullah Bangla Team(ABT)

It started in 2007 when an organisation called Jamaat ul-Muslimeen came into the limelight. But due to lack of funding, its influence faded in a short time. Then in 2013 it re-emerged as Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). The group was banned in 2015. Then it rebranded itself as Ansar al-Islam. It was banned again in 2017. Since then Ansar al-Islam has established itself as the Bangladeshi branch of Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). The organisation is accused of killing several secular people in Bangladesh. According to the South Asia Terrorism Portal, about 425 ABT/Ansar al-Islam members have been arrested across Bangladesh since 2013.
