A heartbreaking incident has come to light in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Here a man had to sell his two-year-old son to get his wife and newborn discharged from the hospital. The victim’s father did not have the money to pay the hospital bill. This is why he sold his child to a couple on the advice of some people from the hospital. After the disclosure of this case, the police have recovered the child safely.

A police officer said that a man was forced to sell his three-year-old son to get his wife and newborn child discharged from a private hospital. After this incident came to light, people got angry. After getting information about this, the police and administration immediately swung into action. Police arrested five people on Saturday, including a couple who had bought the child.

Police said Harish Patel, a resident of Barwa Patti, had taken his wife to a private hospital for the delivery of the baby. This was their sixth child. After the birth of the child, when he was unable to pay the hospital fees, the hospital staff did not let the mother and the newborn go. Police said that in desperation, the father agreed to sell his three-year-old son under fake adoption documents for a few thousand rupees on Friday.

Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar Mishra said that on receiving information about the incident, the police started investigating. Five people involved in this crime have been arrested. These include middleman Amresh Yadav, child buyer Bhola Yadav and his wife Kalavati Yadav, a fake doctor Tara Kushwaha and a hospital assistant Suganti. A constable has also been removed from duty due to alleged allegations of taking bribe.
