After Chirag, now JDU also stood with India Block on caste census, issue raised in OBC Welfare Committee meeting

In the recent meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on OBC Welfare, the parties of the INDIA alliance and NDA allies strongly raised their demands for caste census.

JDU made this demand
According to sources, in this meeting JDU specifically demanded caste census and proposed to increase the creamy layer limit for OBC from the current limit to Rs 20 lakh. JDU says that at present the creamy layer limit is not sufficient for the OBC category, and it needs to be increased so that more and more people can take advantage of it.

Parties of the INDIA alliance also raised the demand for caste census
The parties of the INDIA alliance also stressed the need for caste census. They requested the chairman of the committee to send a recommendation letter to the Home Ministry, demanding caste census in the country. In the meeting, there was also a demand to fill the vacant posts for OBC and implement reservation. The demand to immediately fill the vacant seats of OBC in central universities and to implement reservation in temporary posts (Adhoc posts) was also raised prominently.

Chirag Paswan has also talked about caste census
All these demands were put forward during the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on OBC Welfare, which are considered important for the protection of the interests of the OBC class and their welfare. All eyes are on what decision is taken on these demands. Let us tell you that earlier, Chirag Paswan, the chief of LJP (Ram Vilas), which is an ally of the NDA, has also raised the issue of caste census. He has expressed his clear opinion on this issue not once but many times before.

What did Chirag Paswan say
Union Minister Chirag Paswan was elected the national president of the party at the National Executive meeting of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in Ranchi last Sunday. After being elected president, Chirag Paswan said, “My party has always kept its position clear in support of caste census. We want caste census to be done. The reason for this is that many times the state government and the central government make such schemes which are prepared keeping caste in mind. These schemes are made with the aim of connecting them to the mainstream. In such a situation, the government should have information about the population of that caste. At least this information should be there so that the distribution of funds under the concerned scheme or to connect that caste to the mainstream can be done in appropriate amount. At least the government should have these figures in this regard.”
