According to SSP Anurag Arya, confidential information was received that Faridpur police station in-charge Ramsevak caught two suspects in an NDPS case and then released them after taking Rs 7 lakh. To investigate this, Faridpur Circle Officer Gaurav Singh immediately reached Bareilly police station. But police station in-charge Ramsevak disappeared. When his room was checked, Rs 9 lakh 96 thousand cash was found there.
Investigation has revealed that Alam and Niaz were brought to Faridpur police station in an NDPS case. But the station in-charge released both of them after taking Rs 7 lakh. A case was registered in this regard on the complaint of the area officer. At present, the accused inspector (station in-charge) has been suspended. A case of corruption has been registered. Further action will be taken after the arrest.
A similar case had come from Narhi police station of Ballia
